I was now able to load the Homebrew Channel without issues. Once the update completed, it returned me to the Wii Menu. The update took a few minutes as it was installing basically every IOS along with some dummy channels that point to the Wii Shop Channel. After putting a disc in, I was unsurprisingly greeted by the familiar Wii System Update banner in the disc channel. To run this update, I chose Wii Party as my disc of choice.

I restored it using BootMii and we were once again in the environment that is mostly unusable. I didn't feel like going through and uninstalling all the IOS again, so I utilized the NAND backup I made last time I set up this experiment. But this time, the goal is to try and recover using official methods, whether that's an online update or a disc update. The first time, I did it using Letterbomb and homebrew applications. This experiment continues from the last one where I uninstalled every single IOS on the Wii except for IOS80 which System Menu 4.3 runs on and then tried to recover from that mostly unusable state into a normal useful state.
